HS-1: our first hypersonic test vehicle
A ballistic hypersonic missile prototype, flown from Andøya Space in Norway in February 2026. It exceeded Mach 6 over a range of more than 300km. All systems operated nominally, and performance was validated down to subcomponent level at hypersonic speed.
Our goal is to develop hypersonic deep-strike capability by 2029: more sophisticated systems, travelling at Mach 5 or faster with increased manoeuvrability, designed to outmanoeuvre existing air and missile defences and deliver precision strike deep into defended territory within minutes.
Europe needs a deep-strike deterrent it owns
Russia’s war in Ukraine has exposed, at terrible cost, Europe’s gap with its adversaries’ strike capabilities — capabilities built on decades of sustained investment in defence industrial capacity.
European governments understand that defending their people requires both deterrence by denial and deterrence by punishment: aggressors must be convinced that an attack is unlikely to succeed, and that unacceptable consequences will be imposed if they attack. Europe needs sovereign, affordable hypersonic deep-strike capability to deliver this deterrence.
Governments have moved from debating whether Europe needs this capability to funding programmes against it. The challenge now is delivery — and how much capability Europe gets for every pound and euro it spends.
Our goal is to equip European governments with sovereign capability.
80% of the components in our first prototype came from European suppliers. Where nothing on the market works at hypersonic speed, we redevelop it in-house.
We operate under UK and German export control regimes, and will only partner with NATO-aligned democratic governments.
